For those who have had the misfortune of paying to see Transformers 2 in the theaters, did anyone else find it to be sexist and racist?

I think it pushes some racial stereotypes.
As for sexist, I think it depends upon your point of view. Megan Fox runs around with her shirt open, breasts heaving, & tight shorts/pants. To guys, this is sexy. To me, it’s more exploitive. Obviously, a vacuous actress like Megan Fox doesn’t mind. Anyone who gives a reviewer the reason for seeing a movie as being to “be in air conditioning for 2 hours” isn’t really worrying about being seen as a serious actress.
Basically, the movie is a guy movie with a weak plot and over-usage of FX and explosions, which is what Michael Bay is known for in Hollywood. Some people just want to “check their brains at the door” when seeing a movie. Obviously, based upon the opening box office, a LOT of people did.
Well, I actually saw the movie and loved it (shia).
The only “racist” part of the movie were those two autobots that tranformed into mini SUV’s. The way they talked, the “gold tooth”, and their ignorance etc…
Sexist? Not so much. Maybe you should explain your views on each remark.
No its just you. Stop finding thigns to rip on. It’s called humor which everyone in the U.S. seems to have except people like you. Go get a hobby and stop trying to defend people. I happened to think the twins were probably the best part of the movie because they were so racist it was funny and you could tell it wasn’t angered or anything,
I think it’s a good movie, and people should stop hating action movies for stupid tiny things,it’s called an action movie, ppl go to see it for good action scenes, and that’s what it had, the story was good too, ppl need to stop taking movies so seriously.
Yes and Yes.
It was a terrible movie, and those are only two of many reasons it was bad.
By the way, your review is spot on.
I found it somewhat racist because there were 2 robots that acted like the african american stereotype. I don’t think it is sexist though.
wow…i love it when people take movies that are solely for entertainment purposes, and they create this deep, dark significance behind them…i think you may be taking the movie a bit too seriously
I thought it was great. Its a movie, chill out.
I didn’t how did you find it to be that way? maybe I missed something…
